Glam Spends #1

Dear Glammys!

Today I thought I'd show you one of my weekend spends, which calls for a haul. Now doesn't it. I for one really like reall-lly love hauls, be it videos or blog posts, I just love it It's like virtual shopping or getting the satisfaction equivalent to shopping. And it also gives me ideas of what to buy and try next. So last weekend I went to actually just get some ice cream and ended up spending lots more than what an ice cream costs. Yeah, my bookshop fella had some nail stuff, (which is next to the shop from where I get ice cream) and I couldn't help but peek through the bookstore and that's what always ends me up in trouble because I cant resist buying (the good stuff or at least that's what I tell myself for any consolation LOL). And now that I had spent on the nail stuff, I thought why not just visit the drugstore too which is next to the bookshop, and oh well, that peek costed me too. So here comes the Glam Spends (my fancy name to declare my hauls and shoppings hehe clever I know :D)

First let me show you a collective picture!

Not much I know, but believe me it costed me dough! :D

Okay, so lets dig into Drugstore stuff.

It's summer people, we all need to stay fresh and odourless. And I have been absolutely loving this Nike deodorant. I've been using it non-stop and it has a very fresh scent. Haven't started using Dove one yet, so I'll post a review when I actually use it. (Still have my old one going which I absolutely love).

Also from drugstore I found this! :D

Yups, a lip and an eye pencil. These two alone costed me like Rs. 700 *phew*. Till now I'm liking both of these a lot. But detailed review would be up soon featuring staying power and all that jazz.

Now lets get into nail stuff =)

Who doesn't like bling bling?? I do! Hence the stickers.

I have not used them yet, so can't say how I feel about them yet. But I just love how they look. A look with them should be coming soon along with the review.

Also let's not forget the much ignored hair ties in the collective pic (I just keep losing them and can't be bothered much about them. I use what I get as long as its comfortable hence the plain look of them :O). Also I got a basecoat (very basic from Medora).

So, that's all folks. Keep your eyes on the blog for more reviews and hauls and much more.

Promise?!

Dear Glammys!

Hope you all are doing okay! It's been absolute ages since I last wrote something. I have been extreme busy with some personal stuff. Hence the lack of posts. Although I apologize for disappearing so randomly (me neither likeys it; but we have to manage). Anyway, now that things are better and I can get back to posting more, I've decided to post at least once a week. That is a big commitment for now till I don't get hang of things happening around me, but I promise to try my level best to maintain that schedule for now at least. Let us see how that goes :P

Meanwhile, I tried to re-vamp my blog outlook. I'm still not purely satisfied with it but it will have to work for now till I don't find enough time (and till I don't learn more). I'll keep on experimenting. Hang in there with me guys.

I missed posting here, oh GOSH. Thank goodness I can finally do it again. Looking forward to it and your feedback. Means a lot so keep it coming.

Also, don't forget to follow me on all social media sites =)

Detoxify with Green Smoothie!

Dear Glammys!

Today I have something very unusual to share and once you see it; you'll know why and you will pretty much agree that its weird :D

Now that its almost summer time and the weather is more hot everyday, we will be looking forward to drinking chilled juices which no doubt will cool us down but will increase our weight massively (considering I am a typical Pakistani and a huge FAN of "Jam-e-sheeri and Tang" :P), hence making us feel guilty and bad (although I must say I've never felt like that). We definitely don't want that happening.

So we need to find something which is good and healthy for us and which will lessen our guilt towards drinking juices!

Recently I found this trend floating around on internet and I wanted to try myself first before I let you guys know. The rave is all about this "Green Smoothie" which is very very detoxifying for your body. If you search on Youtube, you will come up with so much on it, it will literally baffle you. Anyways, it looks like crap but believe me looks can be very deceiving in this regard. It doesn't taste bad at all.

So I believe you can agree it looks weird. Well. let me tell you the benefits of it and you might start to like it. It will help detoxify your body, will benefit your metabolism and will also make you feel full ( leading you to snack less throughout the day). Furthermore it will help you loose weight too if you want to and will help you maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Its extremely beneficial. Specially if you're a person who doesn't like eating vegetables and greens; let me tell you this is for you my friend; it can be your savior.

Now let me tell you how to make this goody smoothie. All you need is bunch of green vegetables (hence the color) and some fruits (hence the good taste).

I simply added couple of handfuls of washed raw spinach (just the leafy parts), half a cucumber (you can add full cucumber too depending on how much you want to make), 1-2 apples, juice of half a lemon (optional), half inch piece of ginger and about 1-2 cups of chilled water, you can also add ice if you like it really chilled. Blend this together really well for about 3 minutes so that the texture is smooth and not to leafy. And that is it. This makes about 3 glasses (depending upon quantities of veggies and fruits and the amount of water you use to make it to the preferred texture of how you like to drink it )

You can also do variations. Like you can add carrot or beetroot along with some mint. Today I even added some dried apricots. Also you can add any seasonal fruit like mango, melon, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, apricots, peaches, bananas; pretty much any fruit you like because this is the only sweetness you are adding to your smoothie and lets not forget that fruits are very very beneficial and are awesome source of vitamins and minerals and all the goodness that we need. If you are looking forward to loose weight, to make it even more efficient, instead of making your smoothie with water, add chilled green tea of your desired flavor (lemon, mint, jasmine, cinnamon) in it.

The suggested way is to drink 16 ounces of it (which makes about 2 full glasses) preferably in the morning like with breakfast or before that however you like. You can drink it pretty much at any time of the day.It is a rich source of anti-oxidants and as your using raw stuff, the benefits are even more than you can imagine.

Believe me the taste is not bad at all, you just have to get over the color, if that freaks you. I have been using it for like about a week now and let me tell you, I see the difference it makes already. I look forward to drinking it every morning in breakfast along with my cereal. I like to drink a glass in the morning and a glass in the afternoon when I am craving some sugary snacks and juices. This is perfect replacement for them.

I feel more energized and less lethargic. I snack less on non-healthy stuff and I feel good about my body and my eating habits. Its the little things that make big differences. Give it a try, commit to looking and feeling good inside out.

P.S: I forgot to mention not only it detoxifies, it gives your skin a very healthy glow too :D
P.SS: Also keep in mind I'm not a nutritionist or a dietician or anything, but this is good and so I thought to share it with you.

Disclaimer/Warning: keep in  mind, you are not supposed to go on diet by consuming only this throughout the day; that is not healthy! If you want to use it for dieting purposes, then drink this in morning and evening and cut your food portions and workout people.

Blossom Blush Tint

Dear Glammys!

Today I decided to review my one of the most loved products. No. 7 Blush Tint in Blossom.

To me, its almost like a cream blush in a stick. Convenient and very easy to use. I have the shade in Blossom which is number 15. They've got some amazing shade selection but this is the one I like the most.

You can see that the color looks really dark but it comes on actually quite sheer on the skin. And its build-able but I like to use it just as a subtle hint to give that glowing blushed look. As its a cream product so it doesn't turn out to be cakey on the face. And you basically cant go wrong with it. Best part is, I don't have to hassle to find the right brush. I just take two fingers, tap lightly on it and blend onto cheeks. For heavier color pay off I directly apply it on the cheeks and then blend it . It gives that perfect rosy-dewy finish which I am a fan of specially for spring and winter.

Without flash

The staying power is pretty reasonable. I prefer to apply it directly above my foundation (if I am using any that day) or just simply over my moisturizer, and to make it last longer I apply light dusting of normal powder blush in some pinkish color to set it completely so it doesn't wear off to quickly. If you don't wish to apply the powder blush on top of this, then you can simply lightly dust it with loose powder which will set it completely (this is what I do for everyday casual look).

It doesn't has huge shimmer in it, and it has that slight satin-ish dewy finish. So you would love it if you like dewy finished glow-y products.

The left one is builded swatch and the right one is blended swatch. You can see how it just beautifully blends giving your skin a very natural blush :)

This is my favorite product to use. The only downside for me is the price. Even though its a Boots/No. 7 product which is considered as a drugstore brand, still it is sold with a price tag of £10 for just 3.5g of product. I got mine from amazon.co.uk.

Apart from the price, I absolutely love this blush tint and it lasts pretty long time. I have been using mine for around 5-6 months now and its still going good :) If you can splurge, I'd recommend buying it. You won't regret it =)

L'Oreal Cheek to Cheek Sculpting Blush Duet

Dear Glammys!

Lets talk about some cheeky stuff today (LOL cheesy much!). Couple of months ago I was in search for some cheap sculpting/bronzing and highlighting stuff for my face. And lucky me, because I found something really pocket friendly, yet giving me the absolute results I wanted. The product is called L'Oreal Cheek to Cheek Sculpting Blush Duet. Yes, it has word Blush in its name even though it works as sculpting and bronzing product, a little research told me that it is a blush, comes in various shades like peach and pinks and is used for sculpting and adding dimension. Hence, its name is not restricted to bronzer. It came with a price tag of PKR 275 from my local drugstore; see I told you its pocket friendly :D and you get 3.5g of product. Which is totally worth it :)

The shade I bought is called Infinite Sands and it is gorgeous on the skin.

You can see that half side is like a highlighting shade with touch of peach-ness to it and is perfect for drawing light to the face. I like to use it above my cheek bones, on the cupid's bow above lips, down the bridge of the nose and also as everyday highlight for my eyes in the inner corner and below the brow bone. It is really easy to blend, is not overpowering or chunky, has very slightest shimmer just the way I like it.

The other side is very muted brown. Not at all shimmery which is something we want in a bronzer or any product we want to use to sculpt our face. After all, no one wants to end up looking like a disco ball. Its perfect for defining the face and sculpting those chiseled cheek bones we all want (HAHA). Anyway, its very blendable and buildable as well. A little goes a long way for this. Not only I use it for contouring my face and cheek bones but I also use it in my eye socket for very subtle definition and adding depth to my eyes for my everyday look.

The unblended swatch for you people to see some of goodness I am talking about. It's very subtle and beautifully sculpts the face. I've been using this for last couple of months (maybe a bit more than that) and it has been my goto product for contouring and bronzing. And even after all this rigorous use, I have hardly made a dent in the pan. The lasting power on the face is also okay and wears off very nicely on the skin.

Also this product is very comparable to Sleek Contour Kit (which was the basic motivation behind buying this as well). The brown part of this L'Oreal product is not as fine as Sleek's, but nevertheless it gave the same marvelous results. It being the cheaper alternative is much more feasible to use for everyday or for carrying around in the bag. Here I must mention, although I'm very satisfied with the packaging overall, its pretty sturdy, but I would have preferred it more if it came with a brush and mirror too (because that makes it easy for touch-ups on the go).

Overall I would suggest you try grabbing some of it from your local drugstore as its really worth the money you pay for it. The product is nice and can be used in various ways other than sculpting as the colors are so universal and pretty much it would suit every skin tone. Give it a go!
